Field of Hydrangeas

When I'm painting on canvas I always have a blank piece of acrylic paper next to my paint palette to use when testing out new colours and marks I might use on the larger piece. Often these will become paintings in their own right. This is exactly what happened here, the field of hydrangeas appeared out of nowhere and needed just a few extra brush strokes to bring them to life.
I've used layers of acrylic paint, oil pastels and coloured pencils which resulted in a complex range of colours and textures.
This is an abstract mixed media painting on acid free acrylic paper and measures 28cm x 36cm, with a white card mount measuring 40cm x 50cm
This piece is mounted behind white mount card and wrapped in cellophane for protection in transit.
